RobertOsborneThe music series at The Hispanic Society of America continues in 2015 with Don Quixote in Music, a costumed and staged recital conceived, directed, and performed by bass-baritone Robert Osborne. 2015 marks the 400th anniversary of the publication of Part II of Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote – the first edition of which is in the collection of The Hispanic Society of America. To commemorate this anniversary, Don Quixote in Music draws its inspiration from the wealth of music based on episodes and characters from this masterpiece of Spanish fiction, including works by Jean-Baptiste Morin, Ibert, Ravel, Massenet, and Korngold.
